Short Note: Pray the Word

I think this is going to be the shortest post I’ve ever written.

So many times I get stuck when it comes to prayer. At times I cannot put what I’m feeling in words. Our pastor taught us this: Pray the Word. It gives me great comfort when I find a scripture that expresses what I’m feeling and so I use it as my prayer.

It also gives me comfort to know that the Holy Spirit also pray’s on my behalf when I can’t:

Romans 8:26-27 (AMP) 26 In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words.

27 And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because the Spirit intercedes [before God] on behalf of God’s people in accordance with God’s will.

Let me encourage someone today to do this in times of deep valleys.

(Read my writings on M-W-F. Fridays are usually Guest Writer days.)
